Meet Barry P. Beck
Barry P. Beck was born in Norfolk, Virginia, on August 31, 1960. He graduated with a bachelor's of science degree from
James Madison University in 1982. In 1986, Mr. Beck received his law degree from the West Virginia University College of
Law, where he graduated in the top 15% of his class. After graduating from law school, Mr. Beck was commissioned as an
officer in the United States Army Judge Advocate General's Corps.
He attended the Judge Advocate General's School, where he graduated with honors from the Judge Advocate Officer
Basic Course. Mr. Beck then served as the Assistant Staff Judge Advocate for the United States Army Strategic Defense
Command in Huntsville, Alabama. Upon his discharge from the Army in 1989, he was awarded the Meritorious Service
Medal.
He is one of the founding partners of Power, Beck & Matzureff. His practice focuses on employment law, personal injury
and criminal law.
